College Plans!

So I didn't get into BYU Provo like I've always dreamed of.  I got a text from a friend while babysitting one night that the results had been posted online.  Waiting for the internet to load with the slow Wi-Fi was torture.

But then again, I questioned whether I really wanted to know because this would determine the direction by life went.  Right before it loaded, I said a prayer to Heavenly Father letting him know that I was ok with whatever outcome, and I was putting my life in his hands.
I ended up being rejected.  It was a shock at first, not because I expected to get in, but because any time I would envision myself at college, it was at BYU Provo.
I was also embarrassed by how much I've talked about that college the past ten years, and now I'd have to tell my family and friends that I wouldn't be attending there.  Now I feel confident that God has a different plan for me and that I wasn't meant to go there.
As of now I am considering my many options of the FUTURE. For sure I know that I want to go on a mission and of course get married for TIME AND ALL ETERNITY<<< Well, not yet.  I'll let ya know:)

Island Park

Flashback to Sweethearts!

Well... I finally went to a school dance & let just say it was an "experience."

It was a very snowy day. We started off making corsages and boutonnières at the other Paige's house.  Plus we ate pancakes> YUM!

This happened^^^

My creation^^^ not the best but hey, 7$ sure beats 20$!

The corsage Andy made^^  Aside from its fragileness, it was GORGEOUS! I was very impressed!

Then I went to get my hair done:) And the rest of the day ( at the family history event) I tried to not ruin it.  It was actually kinda stressing me out, but I'm easily stressable.< I don't think that's a word:)

We had brief pictures as we were all very eager to eat!

Preston and Cassidy

The bros^^^

Dinner at the Japanese Steak house really hit the spot! Not only was it DELICIOUS but it was also ENTERTAINING.

Andy kept saying he doesn't look good smiling (which I beg to differ) so we had to take a funny one:)

And then these two^^^ Love you guys! It was a great night.

Now the reason I say it was an "experience" was because of the dance:
1. It was in a ballroom like the ones dance conventions are held in.  I was grateful for this because it was roomy (besides the mob in the middle, you know what I'm talking about). Because of the setting I felt like I should bust out some lyrical or hip hop, for old times sake:)

2. The crowd was very interesting. I would've been completely content just people watching.

My observations were:
- There is the mob in the middle which if you look at too long your eye sockets will shrivel up and burn. Just kidding, I just wouldn't want to be a participant.

- There are the "in love" couples who slow dances to every song (so that is, slow danced to dub step. Whatever floats your boat :)

- And then the AWESOMLEY COOL PEOPLE who don't give a care.  Preston was the BEST EVER to dance with. His moves were hilarious, and he even made up a few of his own! Just envision "Singles Ward" status.

Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'

So... this week my parents decided to ditch us to go to Hawaii!!! They totally deserve it though, having to put up with us all the time.  They've been gone one day and its already a free for all!
The boys have eaten sugar at every meal: 2 giant candy bars each, a pan of brownies and a dozen cookies all in 24 hours (no worries mom I am making real food too :)

Momma last year in Hawaii
I LOVE my parents SO much! They will surely be missed this week as I take the role of mini mom and am forced to do my vocal exercises without my Papa. BE SAFE! (did you know there has been 11 shark attacks off the coast of Maui in 2013, hence the reason I hate sea creatures!)

I LOVE my parents most of all because they LOVE each other SO much, even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it:) Dad wrote this poem and taped it on his mirror as a daily reminder.  We should ALL strive to live like this!

Sent to me TODAY:)

Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'

That is absolutely right

I hope my life is pleasing to my Father

I hope to be the husband my wife always wanted

I hope when I cross over the other side it's as beautiful as I've seen in my dreams

I hope

Music that INSPIRES!

I never realized that all of those years of dance made me absolutely fall in LOVE with music!!!
I used to tell people, " I dance because I cant sing."  Well, now I realize that was all a justification method because deep down I wanted to be good at singing:)

So... I figured I'm just going to get older so I might as well learn how to sing now and if I fail, whatever, no harm done, I tried!
Singing is a weird thing though, when you think about it.  Your forcing air and sound out of your mouth while telling a story to a beat. Yet some people sound so ANGELIC!

Excluding myself of course. But guess what? There's HOPE for you and I because my dad told me that your voice isn't finished developing until your about 35 years old. Great news huh?
Now onto my INSPIRATIONS:

I apologize in advanced that I am technologically challenged and cant figure out how to upload a video. PLEASE visit the links:) You wont be disappointed!

1. An eleven year old cancer patient Breanna Bercegeay at St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Breanna was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia -- an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow -- in June. Through this all she can still find joy:)

I am actually interested in hospital teaching as a career. Check out my web page on it.
Hospital Web Page ( Its actually harder than it looks! Making a web page not teaching, although that's probably hard too )

ANYWAYS...

2. My new favorite artist Charlie Puth.
Charlie Puth singing Stay

In highschool he was afraid to sing in front of people so set up a youtube account and started gaining confidence.

He does what he loves and loves what he does! We can all follow his example and do what makes us happy!

Plus he's pretty attractive:)

Oh and one more thing. Oprah Winfrey did a show on this six year old boy who was tortured.  Its sad but very inspiring to see how well he was able to cope with this awful experience.

Or you could just read the Book of Mormon;) That's inspiring!  But really!

All About Ollie

My dog is an interesting one.

Thats why he fits perfectly into our family! He can jump super high, sit, roll, high five, give kisses

snuggle, do wheelbarrow

dance, and even do a backflip. (with Christian's assistance of course)

If we ever became homeless, we could just join the circus and Oliver could be the main event.

He has been given many nicknames such as: Ollie,

turd munch, soy, wallie

hoy soy, woliver,

and oliver baliver butt (dont ask, we're all interesting:)

All of a sudden...

First semester of my senior year is almost over!!! Can you believe it! T-5 months... Yikes!

Yesturday in Sociology we got an assignment to finish the statement>>>
All of a sudden, I found myself thinking about sociology when I...
                                                      So HERE IT GOES:)

For our annual Christmas card my Dad likes to be "unique."  Instead of writing out a long essay of our family accomplishments of the year, he makes a spread sheet of random questions for us to answer so our fellow neighbors and friends can learn strange facts about us:)

This year one of the questions we had to answer was," What is a talent you wihs you had?" My siblings and I wrote things like singing, cooking, dancing, ect, while my 13 year old brother Christian wrote, "Black Man Hops."

Having no idea what this meant, I asked him.  In a very dumbfounded way, as if it were common sense he replied," Paige, I want to be able to jump like a black man. Then I'd be REALLY good at basketball!"

After hearing this explanation my brother Preston confronted Christian telling him he was being racist.  Now this is when my sociology experience kicked in.
I was able to explain to them that racism is actually thinking that your race is superior, when Christian was not degrading black people.

Instead he was stereotyping, generalizing that all black people can jump really high.  I hope they learned something that day, but I'm a little doubtful:) LOVE YOU CHRISTIAN!
